Italian Cascina Boschetti Barolo Chinato 500ml ABV 18%
The Vineyard - It is a product born in the backrooms of pharmacies and 'colonial shops' between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, probably inspired by an ancient habit of using spiced wine as a medicine against slight forms of malaise. The idea of transforming a noble wine such as Barolo into a herbal treatment is ascribed to a pharmacist from Monforte: Doctor Giuseppe Cappellano.
Ingredients - Barolo DOCG wine, sugar, alcohol, aromatic herbs and spices in infusion. Barolo is added with different spices according to a secret recipe and left to infuse. After bottling, it rests in the bottle before being put on the market. Since it is not subject to clarification, sediment may form during its life in the bottle.
Tasting Notes - Garnet red with elegant orange reflections. Intense, complex and very persistent aroma, typically spicy with notes of aromatic herbs. Particularly clear are the hints of bitter orange and coriander. The taste is full, pleasantly sweet with a long bitter finish.
Serving - Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C.
Match with - Excellent as a digestive served after meals or to accompany bitter chocolate.
